What should I do if I have an accident?

You must stop, check if anyone is hurt and render assistance to any injured person. 

Obtain the other driver’s details (name, address, insurance company and registration number) and exchange your details with the other driver

You must also give your name and address to the Police if requested and (if someone is hurt) you must report the accident to the Police within 24 hours. 

What do I do next?

You will then need to contact your Insurance company or broker who will talk you through the process to lodge a claim. We have attached some of the major insurance company claim forms that you will need to complete to lodge your claim.  

How does the insurance company assess my vehicle?

You need to contact us at Waitemata Panelbeaters where we will arrange to assess your vehicle by taking digital images and providing a free quote to repair the damage. We will forward this information directly to your insurance company who will either approve the repairs once viewing the digital images or they will send an assessor out to view the vehicle.  

What do I do when my claim is accepted?

We will contact you to let you know that your claim has been accepted and we will book your vehicle in to commence the repairs. We will contact you again once your vehicle has been restored back to its pre-incident condition.  

Can I choose a Panelbeater to undertake my repairs?

You have every right to choose which repairer you want to repair your vehicle.

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

Our aim is to have your car repaired in the shortest time possible. The time that it takes to repair your vehicle will depend on the amount of damage and other circumstances including whether or not parts are easily available. We will however give you an estimated timeframe for the repair and keep you updated throughout the process.

Can I get a vehicle to use whilst my car is being repaired?

At Waitemata Panelbeaters we will happily provide our customers with a courtesy car to use whilst we work on your vehicle. All you need to do is book one when you are booking in your vehicle.

Can I get additional work done on my vehicle if I want to?

Absolutely, Waitemata Panelbeaters will provide you with a no obligation free quote to undertake any other repairs that you may want to have done to your vehicle. 

What happens when my vehicle is finished?

We will contact you to arrange a suitable time for you to collect or have your vehicle delivered.
